Katie Rose McLaughlin, the Co-Artistic Director of Designated Movement Company, is a New York-based artist born in Minnesota. She makes dance for theater audiences and theater for dance audiences.

Her performances include ICEMAN, ACT III, HERE Arts Center, New York, NY (2016); BEAR SLAYER, Ars Nova, Ars Nova Project Residency (2016); and NO CORRECT DANCERS, Chashama’s 37th-Street Gallery (2012). Her residencies include UpStream, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, Tivoli, NY (2017); Resident Artist, The Barn Arts Collective, Bass Harbor, ME (2015, 2016). Katie Rose McLaughlin studied under Bonnie Mathis at Ballet Arts Minnesota then attended the Joffrey/New School B.F.A. Program on full scholarship before transferring to the University of Minnesota.

She also attended clown school in Switzerland studying under Pierre Byland. Other members of the Designated Movement Company include Dan O’Neil and Joshua William Gelb. O’Neil received his B.A. from University of Minnesota and his M.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. Gelb received his B.F.A. from New York University and his M.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University.
