Portal City, Part I: Americana (Free Summer Concerts)

Americana is a series of free, family-friendly, informal concerts in some of our favorite community gathering spaces in Inwood. All of the concerts will be Spanish-language accessible.

Americana will feature a diverse, history-infused program of music written in New York City across the past century, featuring the world premiere of a new string quartet by Inwood composer Eric Lemmon. The program will also feature string quartets by Charles Ives, Wynton Marsalis, Charles Tomlinson Griffes, and Jessie Montgomery.
