Where We Work

LMCC believes artists can be catalysts of social inclusion, economic vitality, and environmental sustainability in the communities where they come from and in globally competitive, mixed-use urban waterfront districts like Lower Manhattan. In addition to making grants to support artistic projects across the borough of Manhattan, each year LMCC converts 100,000 square feet of donated office, warehouse, and retail space into temporary studio, learning and exhibition space in order to serve more than 100 artists in need of space to develop their practice and projects, host our professional development (small-business & personal finance training) programs for more than 500 artists.

We also work closely with partners and property managers across the neighborhoods south of Houston to highlight artistic activity and bring cultural inspiration to a growing public of residents, workers and visitors.
