SUMMARY:Creative Climate Action: Harnessing the Power of the Arts | Webinar
DESCRIPTION:While climate impacts and solutions are too often communicated in technical language\, the arts—music\, dance\, film\, painting\, and more—have the unique ability to translate abstract concepts into connection\, awareness\, and action. \nThis panel\, co-hosted by the New York Climate Exchange and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council\, brings together visionary voices from across disciplines to explore how art and climate science can join forces to deepen engagement and spur action. We’ll hear from artists\, communicators\, and scientists about what’s working\, where the gaps remain\, and what new opportunities lie ahead for cross-sector collaboration. Panelists include Moe Yousuf\, LMCC President & CEO; artist Amanda Lovelee; Anais Reyes\, Deputy Director of the Climate Museum; and Carine Gilbert\, founder of Grounded In Motion. Scroll down to learn more about the panelists and register for the webinar. \n\nPresented in partnership with the New York Climate Exchange\, a nonprofit that unlocks climate solutions by activating a unique partner model and climate campus—coming to Governors Island in 2029. \n\n

SUMMARY:NYLAAT Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, November 8\, 2-5pm to celebrate the opening of NYLAAT’s new exhibition at LMCC’s Arts Center. \nClick here to RSVP for the Opening Reception. \nSensorial Fusion: Relationship Art & Architecture is a group exhibition within New York Latin American Art Triennial (NYLAAT) 2025 that explores the dynamics between human experience and architectural space. The exhibition features artwork by Alejandra Rojas (Peru)\, Alessandro Valerio Zamora (Costa Rica)\, Álvaro Correa (Colombia)\, Antonio José Guzmán & Iva Jankovic (Panama)\, Carlos Llamas (Colombia)\, Cecilia Barreto (Mexico)\, Coco Mártin (Peru)\, Daniel Valladares (Honduras)\, García-Ordóñez (Colombia)\, Juliana Correa (Colombia)\, Natalia Mejía Murillo (Colombia)\, and Sabrina Merayo Nuñez (Argentina). Sensorial Fusion will be on view at The Arts Center at Governors Island November 8 through December 19\, 2025\, open to the public Friday-Sunday 12-6pm. \nNYLAAT 2025\nContemporary art and modern architecture arose from a shared aspiration: the moral and material reconstruction of societies scarred by conflict. Together\, they serve as powerful tools in shaping collective identity\, reinforcing the bond between urban spaces and their inhabitants. By merging artistic expression with architectural form\, NYLAAT 2025 reimagines environments that evoke emotional resonance\, community\, and cultural continuity—transcending mere function and technique. For generations\, artists have documented the shifting contours of cities and domestic life—capturing both the vitality and alienation of urban density. In recent decades\, creative discourse has expanded to address pressing global concerns: climate change\, gentrification\, migration\, and globalization. NYLAAT 2025 invites audiences to engage with these themes through a lens of Latin American innovation\, where art and architecture converge to reimagine the future. Learn more about NYLAAT 2025 here. \nAbout NYLAAT\nThe New York Latin American Art Triennial (NYLAAT) is dedicated to organizing exhibitions of contemporary art and cultural programming through which it seeks to promote and enrich our Latin American culture. These exhibitions are intended to provide diverse educational programs that allow a place to engage with contemporary art expressions and investigate a deeper understanding of its role in society. NYLAAT believes in the fundamental role of education and advocacy through art and in the preservation of the artistic and historic cultural legacies of the Latin American and Caribbean region. The organization seeks to galvanize the cultural landscape of these communities\, complement the academic and visual arts programs of participating galleries and institutions\, and foster a wider appreciation of contemporary art and cultural understanding. \nAccessibility\nThe Arts Center Residency Studios are accessible via the last entrance to the Arts Center on Andes Road. This entrance is accessed by a set of 8 small steps or an ADA compliant ramp. Accessible restroom facilities are located on the first floor. Additional accessibility information can be found in the Eventbrite FAQ section here. \n

SUMMARY:Sensorial Fusion: Relationship Art and Architecture
DESCRIPTION:On View November 8 through December\, 2025\nFriday-Sunday\, 12-6pm\nOpening Reception on November 8\, 2-5pm | RSVP Here \nSensorial Fusion: Relationship Art and Architecture explores how contemporary artists from Latin America and the Caribbean engage with architecture as both context and conceptual material. The exhibition reflects on the emotional\, social\, and political intersections of these disciplines\, addressing themes such as urban memory\, gentrification\, and the transformation of cultural identity. Through this cross-disciplinary dialogue\, the show invites audiences to consider how built environments can become vessels of resistance\, imagination\, and civic engagement. \nThis collective exhibition within the New York Latin American Art Triennial 2025 explores the dynamics between human experience and architectural space\, featuring artwork by work by Alejandra Rojas (Peru)\, Alessandro Valerio Zamora (Costa Rica)\, Álvaro Correa (Colombia)\, Antonio José Guzmán & Iva Jankovic (Panama)\, Carlos Llamas (Colombia)\, Cecilia Barreto (Mexico)\, Coco Mártin (Peru)\, Daniel Valladares (Honduras)\, García-Ordóñez (Colombia)\, Juliana Correa (Colombia)\, Natalia Mejía Murillo (Colombia)\, and Sabrina Merayo Nuñez (Argentina). \n\nAbout NYLAAT 2025 \nContemporary art and modern architecture arose from a shared aspiration: the moral and material reconstruction of societies scarred by conflict.
