Writing clear and effective grant proposals is an essential aspect of fundraising –for artistic projects and for opportunities to support creative development. Yet many artists find applications hard to understand, and face difficulty in putting their artistic ideas and practices into writing. In this workshop, artist Maria Michails will draw on her years of experience in fundraising, sharing examples of application materials and her approach to organizing and maintaining this integral part of her practice. The session will cover the common components of most grant proposals, providing tips, exercises, and examples to help inform future proposals.
