Lize Mogel, Arts Center Residency 2019

Lize Mogel is a Brooklyn-based artist born in New York City. She is an interdisciplinary artist and counter-cartographer, using maps and mappings to bring spatial justice issues to the surface.
 
Her exhibitions include “Diagrams of Power,” Onsite Gallery, OCAD, Toronto, (2018), “Experimental Geography” (touring, 2008-2014); and Sharjah Biennial X (2011). She is the co-editor of An Atlas of Radical Cartography (Journal of Aesthetics and Protest Press, 2008).
 
She has been an artist-in-residence at Freshkills Park and the NYC Urban Field Station in 2017/18, and at the Headlands Center, CA in 2013. She is a recipient of a NYFA Fellowship (2013) and grants from the Catskills Watershed Corporation (2018) and the Graham Foundation (2011, 2009) among others.
