Eliza Bent is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Brookline, MA. Bent’s plays are indeed, “bent”: “different from normal; strongly inclined; changed from an originally straight condition” and often feature misfits from the recent past. Her exhibitions, performances include Indeed, Friend! (Clubbed Thumb/NYU), The Beyonce (Adjusted Realists), Aloha, Aloha, or When I Was Queen (Abrons Arts Center), Real Talk / Kip Talk (ongoing / various), On a Clear Day I Can See to Elba (ICE Factory), Toilet Fire (JACK and Abrons).
Bent is a recipient of Berkeley Rep’s Ground Floor Residency (2018), New Georges Audrey Residency (2017), Target Margin Institute (2016), SPACE on Ryder Farm Working Farm (2016), Payne Award for Outstanding Theatrical Event (2014), MacDowell Colony fellow (2013).
