Application

Detailed application guidelines are released in conjunction with the open call and should be followed exactly. In general, the Swing Space application consists of two parts, an Online Form and a Mail-in/Drop-off portion including the Work Sample and the Work Sample Cover Sheet.

Applicants will be asked to submit:

  • Contact Information
  • Applicant biography
  • Detailed project information

Mail-in/Drop-off Portion

Selection

For each deadline, LMCC receives over 300 applications for Swing Space. Applications are reviewed by an independent selection panel comprised of arts professionals and artists, including past program participants. The panel changes with each deadline. Performing Artists and Visual Artists are reviewed by separate panels. Each panel creates a list of finalists, or Recommended Projects, which are matched with appropriate space as it becomes available to LMCC.

The panel will assess and rank all applications according to the following criteria:

  • Artistic merit and professional record
  • Quality of the proposed project
  • Project feasibility
  • Appropriateness of proposed project for temporary space
  • Significance of temporary space grant for professional and artistic development

Program information and offerings are subject to change.
