ZEYBRAH (Zest for Education of Youth Brings Rhythm, Arts and Humanities) is a community based cultural organization that creates quality programs for cultural exchange between people of diverse cultures and experiential learning in the arts. ZEYBRAH draws its resources from cultures around the world, with an emphasis on the cultural expressions of the peoples from Africa and the Caribbean. ZEYBRAH produces annual cultural festivals as well as public workshops and projects like The Wilma Rudolph Achievement Project (WRAP). Zeybrah’s annual Moment In Time Festival celebrates the lives of recently deceased cultural heroes, who have made significant cultural and artistic contributions to their communities. Their concept of family friendly festival programing promotes understanding and cooperation among diverse ethnic groups and impacts positively on our contemporary urban environment. Their goal is to encourage youth to develop their highest potential, using arts as a springboard for building self-esteem, self-empowerment, teamwork and appreciation for cultural art forms, utilizing education practices that promote high levels of creativity, self-reflection and global connections.
