“We are trying to make jamming one of the corner stones of Yiddish New York, London said. Our goal is to use the Lower East Side as a venue.” – Forward Article, August 11, 2015, Jon Kalish

Yiddish New York (YNY) is a New York-based, international and intergenerational community, committed to the celebration and creation of art, scholarship, and social activism informed by Yiddish culture. By presenting an annual festival in New York, YNY aims to reach audiences within and beyond the Jewish community, enrich their programming through partnerships with a range of NY-based institutions and artists, and create an impact on contemporary arts and Jewish life. Frank London, YNY’s lead artist, is an internationally renowned trumpeter and composer, and the founder of the Grammy-winning ensemble, The Klezmatics. London leads artists and activists to collaboratively plan committees in instrumental music and dance, Yiddish song, theater, visual arts, Yiddish folklore/language, and spirituality in the arts.
