The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra is a non-profit performing arts organization whose mission is to engage the people of Washington Heights and neighboring communities through exemplary musical performances and innovative educational programming. WHCO’S works include nine free concerts and two special events featuring the orchestra and its fine musicians. The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra wants to connect people to a communal listening experience, an experience that celebrates diversity, engenders civic awareness, and enriches lives. Made up of professional musicians mostly from Upper Manhattan, the series features our players in orchestral, chamber music, and solo recital concerts. More than classical music, our orchestra strives to be a place that connects the best art across genres and cultures and reconnects people in community.
