Vision Urbana is a New York-based organization incorporated in 1996 that is committed to developing strong and caring families and to empowering youth to achieve their fullest potential. Vision Urbana’s programs include after school programs where students receive an arts curriculum including painting, mural design, sculpting, hip hop poetry, theater/drama plays, acting improvisations, and contemporary dance, helping them build their self-esteem and character; the inter-generational Healthy Living Initiative; the Empire Mentorship Initiative (EMI) in Lower Manhattan’s CB #3 that utilizes best practices to implement mentor training and mentor-mentee matching; and media technology workshops with ancillary college readiness workshops for participants in middle and high school.
