Untitled Opera about Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs is the project of a New York-based arts group, Joshua Frankel, Judd Greenstein, Tracy K. Smith, et. al. They seek the personal in the theoretical; the application of this guideline to the ideas embedded in the story they are telling inspires the visuals, sounds, texts, and movement that they are creating in close collaboration, in order to yield an opera with a unified and singular vision. The group has presented in On LOCation, The Library of Congress (2012); Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Festival, BAM (2012); Arch Film Lund, The UN World Urban Forum in Naples (2012); and at The London Institute of Contemporary (2011).
The group’s residencies include New Frontier Story Lab, Sundance, Utah (2013). Will Rawls’s residencies include a MacDowell Colony Fellowship (2013), and Tracy K. Smith’s residencies include Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference Fellow (2004). Judd Greenstein received his B.A. from Williams College and M.M from Yale. Tracy K. Smith has a B.A. from Harvard and M.F.A. from Columbia University. Both Joshua Frankel and Will Rawls have a B.A. from Williams College.
