Torkwase Dyson (b. 1973) is a Brooklyn-based multimedia artist who merges ideas such as site and built environments, nature and culture under the rubric of environmentalism. Her group exhibitions include Sight on Site, Franconia Sculpture Park, Shafer, Minnesota (2014), Eyebeam Off the Grid, Eyebeam Art and Technology Center, New York (2011) and Africa Extended, United Nations, New York, NY (2010). She had a solo exhibition at Clark University, Worcester, MA (2014). She was an artist-in-residence at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center, Brooklyn, NY (2014) Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, NY (2014), and The Dorchester Project, Chicago, Illinois (2011, 2012). Dyson received a B.A. in Sociology and Social Work from Tougaloo College (1996), a B.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking from the Virginia Commonwealth University (1999), and an M.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University (2003).
