The 29th Street Playwrights Collective is a New York-based playwright collective that develops the voices of emerging, mature playwrights through weekly craft discussions, writing sessions, and reading critiques. They commit to serving at least 50 percent women writers and other collaborators. Members write and read their work, get constructive feedback, and receive resources for a table reading with professional actors for full-length scripts. The model has resulted in new works presented by Red Bull Theater Company, Golden Thread Productions, Tasty Monster Productions, the New York New Works Theatre Festival, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
