Temporary Culture is a collective focusing on public space in urban environments. The organization’s practice is characterized by the long-term presence of public, sustainable, playful, and self-powered art pieces that can facilitate joyful metropolitan living. Works are multi-disciplinary and large in scale. Project range from an urban game of movements and local music, to an autonomous trashing observation system for neighborhoods. With a collaborative nature, each project facilitates an ecology of local communities, industrial partners, and public institutions. Co-founder Huanling Chen is an artist with a background in exhibition design and games. She has created projects in New York, Rotterdam, and Shanghai.
