Superhero Clubhouse is a New York-based arts group. They are a collective of artists and environmental advocates working at the intersection of science and theater. Superhero Clubhouse makes original performances via a collaborative, green, and rigorous process. Through the creation of new mythologies reflecting our changing world, they work to ignite environmental conversations among audiences and communities in the pursuit of revolutionary theater and ecological consciousness. Their performances include Don’t Be Sad, Flying Ace! (2013); Mars (2013); Field Trip: A Climate Cabaret, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (2012); and Saturn, Wild Project (2012).
Their awards and residencies include Department of Cultural Affairs, CASA Program, The Bushwick Starr, NY (2014); Marfa Dialogues/NY, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, NY (2013); Odin Teatret Residency, Denmark (2013); Chez Bushwick, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, NY (2013); and SPACE on Ryder Farm, NY (2012). Superhero Clubhouse’s education and training include SITI Company (ongoing since 2006), Ithaca College, and National Theater Institute.
