Sunita Prasad is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist who was born in Syracuse, NY. Prasad makes films, videos, and performances using various methods of hybridization between documentary and fiction. Her exhibitions, performances, and screenings include Strangers & Stand-ins (solo), Downtown Gallery, Knoxville, TN (2015); Presumptuous (solo), Vox Populi Gallery, Philadelphia, PA (2014); Tender Comrades (solo), Momenta Art in New York, NY (2013); The Assassin’s Last Word (solo), Homesession, Barcelona, Spain (2013); and Concert Hall, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France (2013). She is a recipient of the Art Matters Grant (2014) and Brooklyn Arts Council Community Art Fund Grant (2014). Her residencies include the T.A.J. and SKE Projects Residency, Bangalore, India (2014), Homesession Residency, Barcelona, Spain (2013) and Contemporary Artists Center Residency, Troy, NY (2010, 2014). Prasad received a B.F.A. from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts and an M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design.
