Shaun Irons & Lauren Petty create complex and richly layered interdisciplinary work while activating a wide range of media to create hybrid performances and installations which confound, confront, and intrigue with equal measure of melancholy, mystery, beauty, chaos, and humor.

Past performances include Keep Your Electric Eye On Me (multimedia performance), HERE Culturemart Festival, January and February, 2013; Atmospheres & Accidental Ghosts (two-channel media installation), Brooklyn BEAT Festival at The Brooklyn Public Library, September 20 and 21, 2012; and Is Anyone Not Ready? (documentary feature), Anthology Film Archives, November 21, 2011, among others. Previous residencies include HARP Residency, HERE, New York City, 2011-2013; Travel & Study Fellowship – Japan, Asian Cultural Council, New York City, 2007; and Residency Fellowship, MacDowell Colony, New Hampshire, 2007. Past awards include various Individual Artist Grants, NYSCA, New York City, 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2012.

During their Swing Space residency, Irons and Petty will develop a work entitled Keep Your Electric Eye On Me. Part live performance, dance piece, video installation, and interactive media lab, Keep Your Electric Eye On Me uses various props, elixirs, strange candies, movement, and spoken incantations to conjure notions of transformation, liminality, hysteria, and the desire for the unattainable.
