Sarita Covington is an artist born and based in the States. She uses storytelling in performance to build community and ignite social change. Covington’s solo performances include Daddy, The Women of Color Festival, NY (2007); and Back Alley Blindness: An Ode to Michelle, The Tank, NY (2009). Her group performances include In The Mix, WOW Café Theater, NY (2013); Things Went Horribly Wrong, WOW Café Theater, NY (2012); and In The Cypher- Monthly Monday Series, The Drilling Company (2011).
Covington’s awards include Open Meadows Foundation (2013); and Manhattan Community Arts Fund, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, NY (2011 and 2012). She received her B.A. from Fordham University and M.F.A. from Yale School of Drama.
