Rory Mulligan (b. 1984) is Hastings-on-Hudson-based artist who was born in New York, NY. Mulligan is currently pursuing a large-scale photographic project based on traumatic events within the Lower Hudson River Valley of New York. His works have been published in MATTE Magazine, New York, NY (2015) and The Photographer’s Playbook, Aperture, New York, NY, 2014. His exhibitions include Eric’s Trip (group), Lisa Cooley, New York, NY (2014); Specifically Yours (group), Joe Sheftel, New York, NY (2012); and Fugue (solo), Motus Fort, Tokyo, Japan (2011). His awards include the Commendation Award, Silver Eye Center for Photography, Pittsburgh, PA (2016); the Portfolio Competition, the Women’s Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA (2010); and the Ward Cheney Memorial Award, Yale University, New Haven, CT (2010). He was an artist-in-residence at Light Work, Syracuse, NY (2014). Mulligan received a B.A. from Fordham University and an M.F.A. from Yale University.
