Rachel Higgins (b. 1981) is a Brooklyn-based artist from Birmingham, AL. Higgins is an interdisciplinary artist who utilizes salvaged architectural materials and the language of corporate design to create site-specific sculpture and participatory events. Group exhibitions include Do It (Outside), Socrates Sculpture Park, NY (2013); Free City, Flint Public Art Project, MI (2013); House Arrest, Franklin Street Works, Stamford, CT (2012); Contain, Sustain, Maintain, Washington Project for the Arts Artisphere, Rosslyn, VA (2011); and Anthem, Babel Kunst, Trondheim, Norway (2010). Higgins received residencies from Real Time & Space, Oakland, CA (2013) and Build-It-Green Astoria, NY (2011). She also received the Emerging Artist Fellowship from Socrates Sculpture Park (2011). Higgins received her M.F.A. from Hunter College.
