Pioneers Go East Collective (PGEC) uses performance and new media to explore stories of social-political relevance. PGEC draws from historical and contemporary realities of queer identity and otherness to create thought-provoking impressions.

Gian Marco LoForte, Daniel Diaz, Julia Pereira, and John Sully lead PGEC in collaboration with a community of writers, performers, musicians, and visual artists. Awards include a Time Out New York Critics Pick, Puffin Foundation Grant, and an Opera America Award. PGEC has been in residence at La MaMa since 2010.
