New York African Chorus Ensemble (NYACE) is a New York-based singing group that aims to contribute to, and celebrate the diversity of NYC’s vibrant cultural life. Their mission includes performing, teaching and presenting concerts and workshops on African music and dance, creating opportunities for an international sharing and exchange of ideas while providing opportunities for other performing groups to take part and, thus, widen their audience.
Their programs include concerts, festivals such as NYC’s Multicultural Festival, seminars, workshops and conferences. NYC’s Multicultural Festival showcases the diverse ethnic performing arts groups that contribute to the multicultural flavor of Harlem. NYACE’s charitable purpose is to provide easy access to high quality, free, or low cost, cultural programming in the community. Their awards include World Harmony Award (2011), Blue Heart Award (2012), Proclamation from Congressman Charles Rangel and the City Council respectively (2013), and Citation from Council Member Levine (2014).
