Music Kitchen is a New York-based nonprofit organization bringing emerging and established musicians together in order to share the inspirational, therapeutic, and uplifting power of music with New York City’s disenfranchised homeless shelter population. Music Kitchen has reached an estimated 12,000 shelter clients in New York City, Los Angeles and Paris, France. The series has presented such luminaries as pianist Emanuel Ax, Berlin Philharmonic principal oboist Albrecht Mayer, violinist/composer Mark O’Connor and cello soloist/New York Philharmonic principal Carter Brey. Music Kitchen has been featured in The New York Times, Strings Magazine, Chamber Music America Magazine, Spirituality and Health Magazine, and more.
