Michael Sherman (b.1981) is a New York-based artist born in Columbus, OH. In his studio and public art practice he explores the complexities of natural, man-made, and overtly tame American landscapes.
His solo exhibitions include Topos, MITart Gallery. Group exhibitions include Plus One, Trestle Gallery, and Invasive Species Potluck, Ugly Art Room Gallery. His awards and residencies include The Cill Rialaig Project at Ballinskelligs Co. Kerry, Ireland (2015); and Artists Summer Institute, an annually recurring five-day intensive professional development opportunity for artists, organized by LMCC and Creative Capital, New York, NY (2015). Sherman received a B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design.
