MELISSA RIKER is Artistic Director / Choreographer of Kinesis Project dance theatre. She is a New York City dancer and choreographer who emerged as a strong choreographic voice when post-modern dance and circus collided in the late 1990s. Her work has been on stage in venues such as Danspace Project, Judson Churc,h Joyce Soho, Minskoff Theatre, Cunningham Studio, West End Theatre, Dixon Place, Brooklyn Lyceum River Cafe, Kalogris Sculpture Garden sand annually in Battery Park and Ft. Tryon. Her residencies include: Earthdance 2006, Dance Omi 2008, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, 2011 Grants/Fellowships: Puffin Foundation 2006 and 2008 annual Grants from The Bowick Family Trust 2007-2012 Ford Foundation Fellow 2008 space grants from The New 42nd St Studios Gibney Dance Center 92nd St Y and a beta-member of the EDA funded Audience Engagement Project. She has been commissioned to co-create a process-oriented residency for Adelphi University.
