Marie Christine Katz (b. 1960) is a New York-based multi-media artist who was born in Sierre, Switzerland. Marie Christine uses various forms of expression and materials from paper, fabric, threads, wire, hair, yarn, lint, glass and wax to text, performance & participatory art, sound photography and video. Her exhibitions include Cheminement, Galerie Duque & Pirson, Brussels (2006); Personal Geographies, Hunter College/Time Square Gallery, New York, U.S.A. (2006); New Life Berlin, Wooloo’s Festival Berlin, Berlin, Germany (2008). Her performances include Velada Santa Lucia Festival in Maracaibo Venezuela (2012), Art in Odd Places Festival, NYC (2012), Sell out at No Longer Empty, NYC (2013). Katz earned her B.A. in Art and Psychology from Empire State College in 1990 and was an artist-in-residence at The Field and at Art Omi in 2011.
