Marianne van Lent (b. 1950) is a New York-based artist born in Ithaca, NY. She considers herself a painter of the natural world. Van Lent’s solo exhibitions include Cosmologies, The Painting Center, NY (2013); Glades and Mirages, Galerie Cerulean (2012); and Fresco Secco, Deborah Davis, NY (2009). Her group exhibitions include Elusive Imagery, Gas Gallery, NJ (2013); and Group Show, AIR Gallery, NY (2010).

Van Lent’s awards include M.T.A. Art for Transit Program, Subway Poster Winner, NY (2007); NYSCA Grant in cooperation with CityArts Inc New York. Mural Workshop for PS3, NY (1994); Artists’s Space Grant, NY (1989); and Installation Grant from Creative Time Inc., NY (1983). Her publications include Arts Alive (2005), The New York Times (2005), “Habitats at the Clocktower” (1987), and The Galveston Daily News (1986). Van Lent received her M.F.A. from Cornell University.
