Maia Cruz Palileo (b.1979) is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Chicago, IL. Palileo is a multi-disciplinary artist who investigates themes of migration and the permeable concept of home.
Her solo exhibitions include Guavas and Ferns, Taymour Grahne Gallery, New York, NY (2015). Her group exhibitions include On Knowing Unknowing: A Material Narrative, Ortega y Gasset Projects, Brooklyn, NY (2016); A Verdant Summer, Taymour Grahne Gallery, New York, NY (2016); and Distansya, Filipino American Museum at Ace Hotel, New York, NY (2016).
Her awards and residencies include Winter Workspace, Wave Hill, Bronx, NY (2016); Fellowship in Painting, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York, NY (2015); and Artist-in-Residence, Joan Mitchell Center, New Orleans, LA (2015). She received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and her M.F.A. from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
