Listen Closely Inwood Chamber Music Initiative (2013) is a New York-based musician’s collective dedicated to bringing quality performances of chamber music to the people of Inwood, strengthening ties in the communities of Upper Manhattan.
Listen Closely presents an average of three concerts per season at Holy Trinity Inwood Church and strives to incorporate audience engagement into every concert. Listen Closely also works in partnership with community leaders to present free and low-cost events in a diverse array of neighborhood gathering spaces, including Dichter Pharmacy & Soda Shoppe, the Bruce Reynolds Memorial Garden, the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood, La Plaza de las Americas, the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, the Inwood Public Library, the Inwood Greenmarket, and Fort Tryon Park.
Led by its Co-Artistic Directors, cellist James Waldo and violist Rose Hashimoto, Listen Closely has a flexible roster of high-caliber professional artists. Their repertoire ranges from historical works from around the world to brand-new compositions written especially for their project.
