Leah Raintree (b. 1979) is a New York-based artist. Her practice addresses our relationship to the environment through permeable, process-based interactions with sites and materials, working across drawing, photography and installation. Raintree’s group exhibitions include Rising Waters, 2.0, Museum of the City of New York, NY (2013); The New Brutalists, Parallel Art Space, NY (2012); and …Is This Free?, NURTUREart, NY (2012). Raintree’s awards and residencies include Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee, Belgium (2014); Workspace, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, NY (2012–2013); The Banff Centre, Banff, Canada (2012); Mildred’s Lane, Beach Lake, PA (2011); and Atlantic Center for the Arts, New Smyrna Beach, FL (2010). She received her B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and M.F.A. from Parsons, the New School for Design.
