Joshua Frankel (b. 1980) is a Brooklyn-based artist from New York. Frankel is a director, animator and visual artist whose work explores life in cities from multiple angles. Recent shows and exhibitions include Ideas City, New Museum (2015); Green Screens, Film Society of Lincoln Center (2015); 21c Liederabend, BAM Next Wave Festival (2013); Arch Film Lund, UN World Urban Forum (2012); US Library of Congress On LOCation (2011).

Residencies and awards include Graham Foundation grant (2016); Rockefeller Foundation, Sundance New Frontier Program Fellowship (2014); Sundance New Frontier Story Lab Residency (2013); Gulbagen, Architecture Film Festival Lund, Sweden (2012); and Jerome Foundation, New York City Media Arts Grant (2005). Frankel holds a B.A. from Williams College.
