Jorge Luis Rodriguez is a New York-based artist who has developed an expansive visual vocabulary and expertise that allows him to accomplish multidisciplinary artworks. Concentrating on sculpture, Rodriguez incorporates significant events, notable inventions, and concepts acquired from his extensive travel to research and document the art, architecture, and history of diverse cultures. He is also inspired by his childhood experiences in Puerto Rico, notably, referencing the flora and fauna in many of his projects. These experiences provide a rich palette that Rodriguez draws upon in the creative process. Rodriguez has designed and installed public art works in schools, parks and open spaces and successfully exhibited in numerous solo, group and multi media exhibitions nationally and internationally since 1976. In addition to Rodriguez’s first monumental commissioned work by Percent for Art in 1985, his work is included in the permanent collections of museums as well as government and cultural institutions.
