John Cameron Mitchell created Hedwig and the Angry Inch for which he won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Revival of Musical and a Special Tony for his return to the role. His film adaptation won him Best Director at the Sundance Festival. He also directed the films Shortbus (2006) and Rabbit Hole (2010) starring an Oscar nominated Nicole Kidman. He presently appears as Andy Warhol in HBO’s Vinyl and is completing his film adaptatation of Neil Gaiman’s punk-era How to Talk to Girls at Parties starring Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp and Nicole Kidman.
