Jessie Chaffee (b. 1979) is a New York-based fiction and non-fiction writer. Her publications include Ostia Antica, Big Bridge (2012); Siena (novel excerpt), Global City Review (2012) and Football Match (novel excerpt), Promethean Magazine (2011). Her presentations include Florence In Ecstasy: The Inspiration of Place (book presentation), Florence University of the Arts, Florence, Italy (2014); and The AD Reading Series, New York, NY (2014).
Chaffee has received residencies and grants from the Fulbright Grant in Creative Writing to Italy, The Fulbright Program, Florence, Italy (2014, 2015); Writer-in-Residence, Florence University of the Arts, Florence, Italy (2014, 2015); Research Fellow, The Wertheim Study, The New York Public Library, New York, NY (2014); Writing Fellow, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Amherst, VA (2013); and Writer-in-Residence, The Ox-Bow Artists’ Residency, Saugatuck, MI (2013). Chaffee received a B.A. in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and an M.F.A. from the City College of New York.
