Jesse Bonnell (b. 1985) is a Swiss-born artist who lives in Brooklyn, NY. He is a multidisciplinary artist who works in installation, video, photography, drawing, writing and performance. Bonnell’s works include The Murder Ballad 1938, REDCAT, Los Angeles, CA (2015); The Internationalists, The Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, Santa Barbara, CA (2009); and Five Small Fires, Bootleg Theater, Los Angeles, CA (2014). Abroad, his work has toured throughout Eastern Europe including Croatia, Poland and Serbia. He is a recipient of a grant from Creative Capital, NY (2013). Bonnell was an artist-in-residence at Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, NY (2013), The MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, NH (2013), and the UCLA Department of World Cultures, Los Angeles, CA (2012). He received a B.F.A. from CalArts.
