Jennifer Cecere is a New York-based visual artist. Cecere’s work explores the idea of needlework, taking something small and personal and making it public. Exhibitions include Suspended Sculpture, Mayfield Road, RTA, Cleveland, OH (2014); Newport Beach Sculpture Park, Newport Beach, CA (2014); Double Doily, Whitehall & Water Streets, NYC/DOT Urban Art Commission, New York, NY (2013). Cecere’s work is featured in the collections of the United States of America, Department of State Embassy Collections, Bamako, Mali; The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; and The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
Cecere’s grants and awards include Manhattan Community Arts Fund, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY (2012); Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City, NY (2009); and Creative Curricula, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY (2005). Cecere received her B.F.A. from Cornell University.
