“A strong play, a great cast, an amazing director – it all just comes together to make a memorable evening of theatre. Hard Sparks’ “Eightythree Down”, is one of those shows. Hard Sparks is definitely on my list of companies to keep an eye on.” – Stagebuzz, Sept. 13, 2011, Byrne Harrison

Hard Sparks, founded in 2011, is a New York-based indie theatre production company that champions daring performances of adventurous new plays. The actors and playwrights tell tales of personal transformation, most often having to do with recovery from addiction and abuse. One of Hard Sparks’ core tenets is that rehearsal is development. This commitment puts actors, writers, directors, and designers in the studio early and often in the creative process. Hard Sparks has been nominated for eleven New York Innovative Theatre Awards including Outstanding Premiere Production for Eightythree Down; Outstanding Short Script for Chicken-Fried Ciccone; and Outstanding Revival for R & J & Z.
