“A packed house enjoyed every moment of the performance, which salutes the role and contributions of women to this art form. The choreographed dances, expertly performed, ran the gamut from playful to intense and were a mix of dance-theater alternating with virtuoso dance duets.” – Woman Around Town, Eleanor Foa Dienstag
GlamourTango was created by pianist and cultural entrepreneur Polly Ferman to pay homage to women in Tango. The artists who make-up GlamourTango originally hail from Argentina, Uruguay, Israel and Cuba, but all are united by their sense of belonging to this project’s mission; to showcase the feminine, elegant, fun, and strong qualities of Argentine and Uruguayan women in Tango. Presenting a unique, all female, international, multimedia Tango music and dance program, GlamourTango is the ultimate homage to women’s empowerment. Their first performance took place at the Solis Theater in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 2008. Since then, Ms. Ferman as creator, Artistic Director and pianist, has taken the musical to other parts of the world such as China, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and presented it across the US, and in different venues throughout New York City.
