Ginta Tinte Vasermane is an Amsterdam-based artist born in Latvia.  She works in the field of motion picture, sculpture, architecture, performance, and social commentary.  Her solo exhibitions include Nomad Window, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Germany (2012); and Working Frames, Service Garage, Amsterdam, Netherlands (2012).  Group exhibitions include Performance et mouvement, Arcade, France (2012); Downshifting, Survival Kit 4, Latvian Contemporary Art Center, Latvia (2012); and BYOB, Workspace 6, Amsterdam, Netherlands (2011).  She was awarded the Wall House Residency (2011), and was nominated for the Rene Coelho prize (2010). Vasermane received her M.A. from the Netherlands Film Academ and her B.F.A. from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.  During her residency on Governors Island, Vasermane will explore possibilities of balance elements within absurdities of social structures/contexts in our own self-made conditions. She will play with the subject through staged theatrical scenarios in videos.
