G Lucas Crane is a sound artist and performer from Brooklyn, NY. His work focuses on collage, confusion, anxiety, information overload and physical technique. His unique style utilizes analogue tape equipment, voice, field recordings, and digital garbage to create spontaneous live recordings and performances within a surreal, personal narrative of the apocalypse DJ fighting the conspiracy of evil and searching for transcendental, moral life amongst the symbols of our hyper-accelerated modern life. With collaborative projects spanning the worlds of music, art, and theater for the past ten years, Crane lends a little sonic grit with a smile. Major projects include the psych band Woods, the Cassette-collage project Nonhorse, the experimental theater of Performance Thanatology and the performance series Moral Kombat. He co-curates the collective performance space Silent Barn in Queens, NY.

Crane’s project for the Vaults, WORLD DIS, places the Cassette DJ wandering the transfigured world of post-apocalyptic New York City, meeting people, soaking up sound, and seeing the way creativity copes with a new world full of second chance possibilities. A Future Fable of a world made from scratch…
