Evan Robarts received a B.F.A. in Sculpture from Pratt Institute in 2008. He is interested in the relationship between form and material, working mostly abstract. He draws inspiration from objects and forces found in the natural world beyond our ability to understand.

Evan’s project while working at Governors Island is based on the relationship between form and material. Either found, bought or traded, different objects were collected for a year in order to make four abstract sculptures, inspired from forms found in the natural world. Functioning outside our realm of understanding, objects like molecules and black holes whisper about the mysteries of our existence, providing a platform for my own creative vision.
