Elia Alba (b.1962) is a Queens-based multidisciplinary artist who was born in Brooklyn, NY. Her work focuses on photography, sculpture and video. Her exhibitions include Our America: The Latino Presence in America Art, The Smithsonian, Washington, D.C. (2014); Through the Lens: Photography from the Lowe Art Museum Collection, Lowe Art Museum, Coral Gables, FL (2010); and the 10th Havana Biennial, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam, Cuba (2009). Alba was an artist-in-residence at Recess, New York, NY (2013, 2014); Flying Horse Editions, University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL (2011); and LMCC’s Workspace, New York, NY (2009, 2010). She received a B.A. from Hunter College and studied at the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program.
