David Thomson (b. 1959) is a multidisciplinary artist who was born and raised in New York. His work repurposes iconography and forms to create alternative perspectives, structuring environments that reframe actions and the perceived logic of the players. His performances include Venus Knot, The Invisible Dog Art Center, Brooklyn, NY (2015); Short Stories, Owen Dancing in the Streets, Dolan Park, Bronx, NY (2015); and see yourself when, Movement Research, Judson Church, New York, NY (2015). He was a fellow at The MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, NH (2014). He was an artist-in-residence at The Invisible Dog Art Center, Brooklyn, NY (2014) and Gibney Dance Center, New York, NY (2015). He received project support from Jerome Foundation, Minneapolis, MN (2015) and a MAP Grant, MAP Fund, New York, NY (2015). Thomson received a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from SUNY Purchase.
