David Court is a Brooklyn-based artist born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ranging from public intervention to gallery installation, Court’s work is a form of experimentation around and within the confines of representation and display. Court’s solo exhibitions include Milieu, Skol Centre des Arts Actuel, Montreal (2013); On Printed Matter, in collaboration with Josh Thorpe, Printed Matter, New York (2011); and The Garden, in collaboration with Josh Thorpe, Toronto Sculpture Garden, Toronto, Canada (2010). Group exhibitions include More Than Two (Let It Make Itself), The Power Plant, Toronto, Canada (2013); Cultural Fluency, BRIC Rotunda Gallery, New York (2013); and Sediment, G Gallery, Toronto, Canada (2012).
Court received “The Decapitated Museum” Residency from Banff Centre, Canada (2012) and awards from Foundation for Contemporary Art (2011) and Ontario Arts Council (2011). Court received his B.F.A. from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. from University of Toronto.
