Chris Green is a Brooklyn-based designer and puppeteer, whose work approaches puppetry as a form that pulls from every media necessary to point out the mythical in the mundane. Erin Orr is an award winning educator and puppeteer with a deep interest in global folklore. Orr’s residencies include Swing Space, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY (2009) and Green’s residencies include being a MacDowell Fellow, MacDowell Colony, Peterborough, NH (2012). Green and Orr plan to develop an original performance of object-theater to investigate and visualize the phrase ‘the American condition’ as it is used in contemporary media and conversation. In October of 2013, Green and Orr will travel to Taiwan and work with two Taiwanese performers to develop the work over the course of one week into a site-specific 20-minute piece to premiere at the Close to You Festival in Taipei with a subsequent New York City premiere in 2015.
