“Rosenberg consistently fills the space with unusual artist-made objects, books, prints. While the front room of the gallery is an ever-changing array designed to challenge and delight the senses, the back rooms serve as showroom and event spaces. It’s truly a beehive of activity.” – Hyperallergic, Oct 26, 2015, Melissa Stern

Founded in 2009 by artist and curator Maddy Rosenberg who serves as its Executive Director and Curator, CENTRAL BOOKING is a New York-based organization. It is a unique art space that exhibits the breadth of book art along with exhibitions specializing in art and science. CENTRAL BOOKING shows more than 150 international book artists and serves as a place for the arts and science community to nurture work and foster communication. Their Lower East Side location affords them the ability to grow and implement their full programming with four spaces in use: Artist’s Book Gallery, devoted to all aspects of the medium of artist’s books; HaberSpace, thematic art and science group exhibitions that showcase an unusually broad variety of genres where art meets science; OffLINE, the space for CENTRAL BOOKING’s own interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary programming and partner collaborations, special projects, screenings, talks, book launches, original performances, readings, lecture series, discussion panels and workshops; and The Library with an emphasis on exhibitions and programming involved with the environment and social justice issues under the leadership of Diana Wege, Curator of The Library.
