Eliza Bent / Bentertainment (b. 1982) is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist who was born in Brookline, MA. Bentertainment makes performances written and performed by Eliza Bent. Her works include TOILET FIRE, JACK, New York, NY, Abrons Arts Center, The Exponential Festival, New York, NY; THE BEYONCE, Breaking String Theatre, Austin, TX (2014); BLUE WIZARD / BLACK WIZARD (published by Sam French), Incubator Arts Project, New York, NY (2013-2014) and Other Forces Festival (2014); THE HOTEL COLORS, The Bushwick Starr, Brooklyn, NY (2013); and KARMA KHARMS (or yarns by Kharms), Target Margin Lab, The Bushwick Starr, Brooklyn, NY. Bent’s residencies includes the Casa Zia Lina Residency, Elba, Italy (2014), the Pilot Balloon Residency, Lawrence, KS (2014), the Deep Space Residency, NACL, Highland Lake, NY (2013), The Orchard Project, New York, NY (2013) and The MacDowell Colony Fellowship, Peterborough, NH (2013). Her awards include the Payne Award for Outstanding Theatrical Event for THE BEYONCE (2014), TONY Critic’s Pick for TOILET FIRE, and L magazine’s 25 best stage shows of 2013 for THE HOTEL COLORS. Bent received a B.A. from Boston College and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College.
