The American Composers Alliance (ACA), founded in 1937, is an independent licensing association whose purpose is to represent and to promote American contemporary classical music. Its income received from donations, performance royalties, licensing and score sales is used to support ongoing preservation and access, providing music to performers around the world, and to present concerts, support recordings, and provide services for ACA composers and the general public. The company seeks to encourage professional respect and support for performances and recordings of music by American composers of all styles. Its ongoing music score inventory and scanning project serves to preserve the 75+ years of music collected by ACA and to offer it in print-on-demand and digital print formats.
